Still Few Answers In Unexplained String of Infant Deaths - UPDATE: RNRF Asked to Remove Autopsy Report
HERNANDO – Last year, RNRF broke the news of three unexplained infant deaths that occurred within 10 days and just a few miles of each other. The premature deaths raised concerns with parents across the county, who began to suspect that there might be a possible connection. Speculation that a bad batch of vaccines, contaminated drinking water, or even tainted baby formula began circulating the community, but none of those fears were ever confirmed by officials.
RNRF received dozens of repeated requests to update the current status of the investigations, hoping to put to rest fears that something other than natural causes resulted in the infant’s deaths.
On Wednesday, we spoke to Dr. Carol Allen with the District 5 Medical Examiner’s Office in Marion County, who was able to provide at least some answers to one case. The other two cases are still under investigation and information cannot be released at this time.
The first death occurred in the afternoon of September 29th 2015, on Omaha Circle, in Spring Hill, where a babysitter located 3-month-old Bentley Isaac Bailey unresponsive in his crib. Despite efforts to revive the child, Bailey was pronounced deceased. Dr. Allen says this case is being investigated by the State Attorney’s Office; therefore, she cannot release any of her findings at this time.
The second death occurred just 2 days later on October 2nd, at 1347 Ivydale Road, in Spring Hill. Officials say that’s where 7-week-old Giovanni Reeves was found unconscious and not breathing in his crib. Reeves did not survive, despite efforts to revive him.
According to an autopsy report, the manner and cause of Reeves’ death was classified as ********** however, the Pathologist who performed Reeves’ autopsy, Dr. Kyle Shaw, did notate that Reeves ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The third unexplained death occurred in the early morning hours of October 8th, after Fire Rescue responded to 18028 Evening Star Ave, where they discovered 3-month-old Nathan Hale unconscious and not breathing – Hale was pronounced deceased at the scene. As with Bailey Bentley’s case, the State Attorney’s Office is still investigating the death of Nathan Hale and no further information is available at this time.
We will continue to update this string of tragedies as more information develops.
UPDATE: 1/29/2015, 4:45 P.M. - A representative with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office contacted RNRF today and requested that we remove specific details regarding 7-week-old Giovanni Reeves’ autopsy. According to Spokesperson Denise Moloney, the State Medical Examiner’s Office released information prior to the closing of the HCSO’s death investigation. As a courtesy to the Sheriff’s Office and in an effort to preserve the efforts of their investigation, we have removed the specifics of Reeve’s autopsy.

Any one notice it was all boys .. I’m pregnant now with a son. Very curious if it had to do with possible circumcision failure and noone notice…I pray not for my son will be but curious bone the less
I bet those 3 baby’s have something in common and that is recently vaccinated. But they will say it was not because of the vaccines. My child been vaccine free since after 5 years of age and never been sick since. When my child had her shots when she was 2 she ended up in Tampa’s All Children’s Hospital. The doctors said it was not because of the vaccines and at that time when I told them she just had her shots. I was not educated about the dangers of vaccines back then. Did not really look into it for two years later until the same happen to a friend’s child so I asked them if they had their child vaccinated just before and they said yes. So after educating myself I said never again and never looked back. She is more healthier than the averge vaccine injected kid that has health problems on a daily basis.
Genetic defects. not all couples can produce perfect kids.

The deaths of Bentley Isaac Bailey and Nathan Hale sounds suspicious to me,
since they are both still under investigation by the “states attorney’s office”..
And in the case of Nathan Hale, the gofundme.com page is GONE!

In no way am I accusing anyone of murder, I am, however, very suspicious
about those two deaths because they ARE still under investigation..

However, I do have a question and I hope someone in the medical field
will come on here to answer my question.
Isn’t it possible that edema on the brain can be caused by shaken “baby syndrome”??
It sounds like the Zika virus the world health organization keeps talking about. Could that be possible? Prayers to the families.
I am in rhe medical field and as far as the baby that had edema it sounds like, with the other report of the biopsy, that the baby had a genetic disorder not found. As far as the other 2 babies any death that is unknow is automatically investigated to determine if it was abuse or neglect or just God calling the baby child or adult home. Please dont speculate. In none of the original reports did they ever state that the children looked to be abused or malnurished. Things happen as sad as they are some times answers may never be found. This is hard for families and i pray that abuse wasnt a factor, if so hopefully who ever is at fault is punished. If no abuse then i pray for healing for all involved.

There is always an investigation when there is a mysterious or undertermined death. These investigations do not always mean the parents are suspects unless they find indicators of fowl play. We need to trust that our Patholgists who perform and study these autopsies are thorough experts in their field and know exactly what to look for. There are abnormalities within the brain that are quite evident in cases of shaken baby syndrome. There are many specific things they look for as well as many tests for poisons, viruses, bacteria, genetic disorders, malnutrition and physical abuse. Though these deaths are suspicious, coincidences do happen and somethings are just unexplainable. It is difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that this was a conspiracy and all three babies died of the same thing. I do pray that is not the case and these babies were not victims of homicide. May they find the answers and let them rest in peace.

” Real News” would imply that the facts will be truthfully stated. At least one of these cases is CLOSED. It’s not suspicious… It was a devastating tragedy that created heart wrenching pain for the mother of one of these precious babies. The mother who is standing in my kitchen crying because you felt the need to dredge this up again on social media, even though it’s been ruled accidental. Which, in turn, gave people who had nothing better to do, feel it was a good idea to discuss their worthless opinions in the comments. I wish all of you the same experience at some point. Let this child rest in peace and allow the greivng parents a chance to heal by minding your OWN business. So disgusting.
First I would just like to say that this is NONE of anyone’s business , my brother passing was horrible and my family hasn’t been and will never be the same . I can’t speak for the other family members of the other baby’s but Nathan Jr was loved and was well taken care of . His death is NOT under investigation, and it was deemed an accident . I don’t appreciate his name being in this article , it is doing nothing but tearing my family even more apart . These losses are tragedies and horrible and it should not be talked about by ANYONE , let alone posted to Facebook for everyone to see . I feel sorry for all of the families , because nobody’s death, especially a baby’s death , should be talked about or posted about . These were tragedys , not news . My brother was loved by everyone who had the chance to meet him, he was so precious and so cared for and everyone who keeps commenting, and posting about it are doing nothing but making it worse . So thank you real news real fast , for bringing even more pain and suffering into our lives since you can’t seem to let it go and quit posting about him, you must’ve needed some attention on your page because this is not news, this is not what people want to read about . So thanks again for bringing this up and putting me family through even more pain and suffering .
Kimberly, Ruled accidental. If you are willing to accept that you may have no sense what so ever. I would be looking for the cause. I would not accept what the doctors say. And for you to say comments are worthless opinions. Some people here are sad by the deaths and are trying give insight into possible causes that the parents can look into. And for you to say “wish all of you the same experience at some point.” Is an insult to us. What if I say I wish you the same for you. You would not like that would you. Well you need to think before you hit the post button.

The passing of my son is nobody’s business, you say she has no sense but didn’t you read her comment about me?!? Obviously not… and as for the cause again it’s ACCIDENTAL, that’s all you need to know, again it’s nobody’s business.. It had nothing to do with vaccines or formula so all of the worried parents out there can rest knowing that their children are safe!!

It was my page and I can do what I want with it, when I took it down did it offend or upset you??? I don’t think so… So what does me taking down my page have anything to do with my sons passing or any investigation??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! So how is it suspicious?? My son was so loved and what happened was devastating enough, he’s so perfect in every way!!
