Violent crime continues to grow in one Spring Hill neighborhood, especially Bayside Court, which seems be the main artery of violence, drug abuse, burglaries and warrant arrests.
SPRING HILL – Firefighters evacuated four homes and shut down portions of Elgin Blvd, after a utilities crew punctured a propane gas line.
HERNANDO – Like it or not, the Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to extend a contract with Republic Waste Management Services for another seven years. And with that extension comes a rate hike but it also brings an automated pickup system that will do away with unsightly trash piles lining the roadways.
HERNANDO – Stories of officer involved shootings have become common place with most news organizations and probably rank in the top five daily headlines, alongside Russia-Trump, terror attacks, healthcare and North Korea’s “weekly” missile tests. Regardless of the circumstances, when news of a lost loved one reaches the doorsteps of unsuspecting family, a tidal wave of grief, confusion and anger often overwhelm survivors.
NEW PORT RICHEY (PASCO) – A woman is behind bars today after she tried to kill her estranged husband by setting fire to his home early Thursday morning.
SPRING HILL – Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Danbury Street Tuesday, after receiving reports of a possible armed burglary in progress. Several deputies arrived on scene and made contact with at least two individuals at 6280 Danbury Street. After a brief interview, it was determined that a third person of interests had fled the scene prior to their arrival, who may have been armed with a handgun.
UPDATE: 2:26 P.M. - Within minutes of publishing our story of the shooting suspect’s capture, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office issued a media release confirming the arrests and providing additional information. RNRF was advised that the cases were still under investigation prior to their media release. Here is HCSO’s statement in it’s entirety:
ORIGINAL REPORT:
SPRING HILL – Yesterday RNRF broke the news of a drive-by shooting that occurred on Belmont Road and later reported the capture of two possible suspects. There are now unconfirmed reports that both men have been charged in connection with yesterday’s shooting and possibly a prior shooting that injured a juvenile on July 17th.
BROOKSVILLE – A woman’s car was swallowed up by a hole this morning, after a water main broke in front of her apartment on Barclay Ave. Mary Boone says she woke up around 3:00 a.m. this morning to find her car nose first in a hole at her front door step. Boone says she stepped into the hole and suffered minor injuries to her legs. Boone’s car was pulled from the hole and it appears to have only suffered minor damage.
SPRING HILL – Less than four hours after a drive-by shooting occurred on Belmont Road, deputies located what sources say is the suspect vehicle and possibly those responsible for the shooting.
