BROOKSVILLE – A two vehicle crash injured at least one person this afternoon and one of the vehicles burst into flames upon impact.
Fire Rescue responded and quickly extinguished the fire, which was contained to the engine compartment.
There collision occurred in the eastbound lanes in front of the Sand Hill Scout Reserve.
There is some road blockage at this time.
The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

It might not hurt you to be a little more courteous to the comments who blame the person in the back. Was she 5-6 car lengths in back? Was she on the phone? For that kind of damage, the insurance company might have an issue with the real cause.
Bottom line is if she was following the three second rule when following instead of tailgating she would have had time to stop. They learn by example, I can only imagine what your driving record is like.

I hope she wasn’t hurt but she did hit him from behind her reaction time Was cut short due to traveling too close,the other driver was wrong for stopping in the outside lane also.
That’s my daughter and when someone slows down and then immediately slams their brakes cuz the stuff they wanted to retrieve from the road that fell off their car they are at fault I have a police report that says it was the SUV fault you ppl really need to stop judging and look in the mirror every once in a while just remember when you point your finger at someone else you have 3 pointing back at you this site is not an information site it’s a damn biddie fest for people whom lives suck

Concerned mother hope daughter is okay. It is not safe to drive here. I drive DEFENSIVELY- one foot on gas, one foot over brake. Takes practice but saves your life. Perhaps she was too close or momentarily distracted???

Looks like a case of following too closely. Even if the driver of the SUV stopped, it’s still the responsibility for the operator of the old Camry to not smack into them. I’m glad Concerned Mom’s princess wasn’t behind me.
