Citrus FD and Forestry Assisting with Fast Moving Brush Fire
UPDATE: 4/21/2016, 8:25 A.M. - As of last evening firefighters contained the brush fire and there have been no reports of major flare ups or damage to property.
We have received several calls from concerned neighbors who claim this is the second or third fire started by the same person in recent months. We have contacted officials to confirm these allegations and will bring more on this story as it develops.
WEEKI WACHEE – Firefighters are currently battling an approximate 5-acre brush fire in the area of 11140 Yellow Hammer Rd.
Citrus County Firefighters and the Division of Forestry are assisting with bringing the blaze under control.
There are no structures in immediate danger at this time but sources say the fire is moving quickly through heavy fuel.
There are no injuries or damage to property reported at this time.
