UPDATE: 5:43 P.M. - 30-year-old Christopher Michael Lilly has been identified as the man who was shot this morning during an attempted robbery in Lutz.
Officials provided surveillance video of the incident but it does not show the shooting.
LUTZ (PASCO) – An armed robbery suspect is lucky to be alive this morning, after a customer inside a convenience store shot him during an attempted robbery.
According to Pasco County Officials, around 6:40 a.m. this morning an unknown suspect entered the Marathon convenience store on Wesley Chapel Blvd, armed with a handgun, and demanded money.
A customer who was legally carrying a concealed firearm observed what was happening and shot the suspect in the right thigh. Deputies arrived on the scene while the incident was still in progress and subdued the suspect with the help of bystanders.
The suspect was airlifted to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.

Kudos to the customer. I’m broke too but I’m not going to terrorize a clerk just for $50 if that much. I hope Marathon rewards this customer with free coffee & donuts . God bless the customer & the clerk.
