We have received word from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office that the 9 month old child, Kobe Williams, who fell into the family’s pool, has died. The official report states that the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 11:30 am from the father of the child who was attempting CPR on the infant while on the phone. Once emergency crews arrived on scene, approximately four minutes later by RNRF’s clock, they continued to do CPR and then transported him to Oak Hill Hospital. The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital. A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim’s older sibling (just under 3 years of age) left the back sliding door slightly open resulting in the victim having access to the pool area. The Sheriff’s Office states that at this time it appears this was a tragic accident and no foul play is suspected. However, the case remains open.
