SPRING HILL – Just when you think a criminal has climbed as high on the felonious ladder as possible, they go and do something that would baffle the minds of even the most despicable convicts.
We recently reported the Pasco County arrest of William and Jacqueline “Jackie” Perkins, after warrants were issued out of Hernando County on grand theft charges. (ORIGINAL REPORT)
As previously reported, William Perkins, 27, is currently facing 3-counts of driving on a suspended license (Involving injury or death) after killing 3-year-old Ava Thomas and injuring her mother, Lacey Thomas, and her brother Spencer Thomas.
While free on Bond, William made claims on social media that he was turning over a new leaf by going to church, and running his own business. Turns out, William and wife Jackie were in fact attending church at The Kingdom Hall (Jehovah Witness), located at 71040 Smithfield Ave, but their motives may not have been to find salvation.
According to reports, on Saturday, July 30th Jackie and William Perkins drove to the church around 11:00 a.m. where the couple stole a Husqvarna Chainsaw.
Officials say Flynn Colson, son Zachary Colson, and Church Elder, Peter DiLorenzo, all provided testimony that Jackie and William were responsible for the theft because they caught the incident on surveillance video.
During an interview with Deputy Vincent Mascitelli, DiLorenzo stated that he provided money to the couple on the day before the incident because they had nowhere to stay. Jackie and William were supposed to attend a meeting with DiLorenzo the following day but they cancelled - claiming that they were in the hospital. DiLorenzo surmised that they were avoiding the meeting because they had just stolen the chainsaw.
Mascitelli called William’s cell phone and asked if he would agree to meet. Mascitelli says he William sounded nervous and said he couldn’t meet because they were in Citrus County. During the conversation Mascitelli overheard Jacky in the background stating “Come up with an address in Citrus County for him.” William refused to meet and hung up the phone.
While in the presence of Mascitelli, William called DiLorenzo’s cell phone. Mascitelli answered and identified himself as a Sheriff’s Deputy but William quickly hung up again.
On August 11th the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jackie and William were behind bars. One week later, Jackie and William were transported to Hernando County to face charges of Grand Theft. Both remain behind bars, held on a $2,000 bond.
Ironically, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office has announced that formal charges have been filed against William’s Mother, Elizabeth Perkins, after a 2015 bank robbery in Floral City. Elizabeth is already in federal custody for her involvement in a Plant City bank robbery.

Florida Statute 903.0471 give a judge the authority to revoke a previous issued bond if they find that there is probable cause that the defendant has committed a new crime while on pre trial release..Grow a pair judge and follow the law
One can only hope that the DA and Judge will finally wake up and put them all away for as long as possible. If not then we need to elect a DA and Judge that will.

I told Tyler Perkins to leave me alone because he kept messaging me on Facebook, and I didn’t even know him I only knew his sister, but he proceeded to make SEVENTEEN different Facebook pages. Everytime I would block him, he would make a different page and send me a request. He’s a creep. I don’t really know Jackie, but I have talked to her a few times, and I believe that she has no conscious and no remorse for any of her actions. They say that you are who you hang around with and so William is probably as horrible as her.
About Mascitelli, If he was truly innocent of the charges,and without any witness,or physical evidence,why is he not appealing this episode? His testimony on other cases were borderline perjury at least.He is a states attorney worst nightmare on the stand. Guess Al will probably make him. head detective in the rubber gun squad……
A little insight. There is a Perkins out there doing very well for himself. Samuel Perkins is a good man. An honorable veteran and a providing father. You wont hear mention of him because hes relocated to most likely avoid all of this negativity. Its a shame his last name is now infamous in the town he grew up in.
