BROOKSVILLE – On April 1st , 2016, 3-year-old Ava Thomas died at the hands of William Perkins, after the he lost control of his vehicle and ran over Ava, her 1-year-old brother, Spencer, and their mother, Lacey. (CLICK HERE FOR ORIGINAL STORY)
The Florida Highway Patrol headed the subsequent investigation into cause of the crash, which resulted in Perkins’ arrest for driving on a suspended license with injury or death. But a new development in the case may allow Perkins to walk free, if defense attorney Eric Tippin’s motion to dismiss is granted by a Judge later this month.
When Perkins was arrested on April 1st, the Florida Highway Patrol charged him with Driving on a Suspended License but according to the Department of Motor Vehicles, Perkins license was not set to be suspended until April 4th, three days after the tragic accident. Based on Florida Statutes cited in Tippin’s motion, the 5th Judicial Circuit does not have jurisdiction in the case and therefore he is requesting that the charges be dropped. Tippin’s motion does, however, suggest that Perkins could face misdemeanor charges in County Court if the State desired.
Tippin declined to comment and Assistant State Attorney Bill Catto says he is aware of the motion but that he hasn’t had a chance to fully review the details.
Literally adding insult to injury, Jacqueline Perkins, William’s wife, celebrated the news on social media and mocked the charges, stating “Can’t believe all these charges getting dropped. My husband ain’t lying when he said he beats cases. The day we bet the federal charges that’s when I knew I got myself a smart hubby (Laughing Emoticons) Perkins strike again.” She goes on to heckle RNRF by stating “LOL write about it in real news real fast,” followed by additional laughing emoticons. Rick Thomas, Ava’s father, was in shock when we broke the news to him today. Thomas says he’ll attend the hearing on September 27th when Judge Stephen Toner rules on Tippin’s motion to dismiss the charges.
Jacqueline’s father, Gio Marcacci, divulged an even more disturbing detail when I spoke to him this afternoon. According to Marcacci, the Jaguar Perkins was driving at the time of the crash was purchased with money stolen during the recent bank robberies committed by his mother, Elizabeth Perkins. (RELATED ARTICLE) Marcacci estimates that William Perkins received $110,000 dollars from his mother and that much of that money was used to purchase drugs to satisfy his addiction. Marcacci even believes that William was most likely under the influence when he ran over the Thomas family. Unfortunately, the Florida Highway Patrol did not order a blood draw to make that determination.

Why FHP doesn’t do their job is beyond me. If the officer knows someone (as he did Ma Perkins, from the jail), they won’t do their jobs and innocent people are killed while low life, dirt bag, druggies are free to roam the streets.

William Cameron Perkins killed an innocent little girl and injured some of her survivors. There has got to be some punishment for him doing this, even if his license was valid for a couple of days.

License was suspended the thing that happened on the 4th was him being listed as a habitual offender driving with a suspended for 2 years. Car was bought with stolen bank money and mom handed him the keys knowing his license was bad… She should be charged for for killing Ava too …
If your Husband was so smart he wouldn’t waste his life being a criminal. He would have made something of himself and became a productive part oif society.
