BROOKSVILLE – A relaxing Memorial Day weekend turned violent Sunday, after a married couple lay in bed watching movies with their young son.
According to reports, 35-year-old Simone Nete Boutin suddenly poked her husband in the eye and then hit him with a wireless speaker. In an effort to protect their son who was sleeping in the same room, the victim tried to restrain Boutin but she continued to bite and scratch him. Boutin then ran to the other side of the residence and the victim stepped to the end of the hallway to have a cigarette. Moments later, Boutin attacked her husband with a small sword, causing a minor laceration on his arm.
Deputies arrived on the scene and had to forcibly restrain Boutin before placing her into custody.
Boutin is charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest, and has since posted a $2,000 bond.
