This is one of the most dangerous intersections in Hernando County. On numerous occasions I have had cars run red lights and turn in front of me, not just at this intersection, but others in Hernando County as well.
Last week I installed a dash camera and urge other drivers to do the same. At least we will be able to show the police a video of the accident.
its not the intersection its the drivers..lol but yeah know what u mean.. i put cams in my car facing all sides. had a fraud incident years back. learned my lesson. insurance company didnt pay out. same lady same spot multiple crashes in springhill on us19 she would swing back from turn lane fast in front of steak and shake and lock her brakes in front of cars. had like 8 lawsuits. shes apologetic says her car malfunctioned then with fhp told them you rear ended her. she claims disability but filmed her lies at the gym doing heavy weights. she was also suing multiple local businesses for things like slip and fall etc. cameras are a game changer.
The intersection is busy, but if everyone obeys the signals all will be OK. It is when some arsehole does not pay attention or runs a light that this occurs.
@uncle thumbs
I’ve had a dash cam for a couple months now.. I’m with you
Why are the people always taken to bayonet when oak Hill is closer
I have always wondered that, too. Maybe it is because Oak Hill’s ER is not adequate to treat…EMERGENCIES! If I remember correctly, a few years ago, someone fell in the driveway, right in front of the hospital, his his head on the curb, and was AIRLIFTED to Bayonet point!
Iceman I believe that is the Trauma center and Oak Hill is NOT a trauma center. Trust me, if you are seriously injured you want to be in a good trauma center. Worked trauma center in high volume hospital in another state, they are the best .
IceMan, Bayonet is a Trauma Center, Oak Hill is not. Trust me if seriously injured you want a Trauma Center. Have a safe weekend everyone
As an EMT in NJ, we were taught to take an emergency to the nearest medical facility (hospital), for stabilization, then, if necessary, transport to a treating facility.
This intersection gives me agida. Who made the layouts for these roads. Lord have mercy.
I was driving the white car.
They were taking me to Oak Hill, but I was showing signs of a brain injury so they took me to BP Trauma instead. It turns out that I have some bleeding on the brain. Thank God those EMTs made that decision.
Bayonet Point Trauma is AWESOME!!!
so glad you are okay, I stopped to help you and called your dad and girlfriend, I was very worried about you as you were able to talk to me in the beginning but then couldn’t remember any thing . I did talk to FHP
EMT’s’are the greatest!! Glad you will be ok Andrew and sooo glad you were taken to Bayonet Point. Thank you EMT’s for your unselfish dedication to all of us and thank GOD they made the right decision for you by getting you to a trauma centrr. Be well soon.
Kimberly!
I remember you. I remember the safe feeling that I had as you spoke to me.
I also felt the memories being deleted as questions were being asked by the officer and EMT.
Thanks you so much for stopping.
I think the FHP has your phone number. I may call to say thanks and possibly have my father take us all to a lunch.
