HOLIDAY – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is asking the community’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed the Beacon Square Grocery located at 3332 Moog Road.

UPDATE: 8/20/2018, 12:05 P.M. – According to preliminary information provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, Elvin Michael Benitez, 30, of Zephyrhills and two children were traveling westbound on CR-54, west of Chantel Drive, when he lost control of his Mazda 6 and entered the eastbound lanes. Dennis George Wilkes, 38, of Lakeland was traveling eastbound with passenger, Christina Farmer, 27, of Winter Haven. Both vehicles collided head-on, killing Wilkes and Farmer. Benitez was ejected from the vehicle and also died at the scene. Benitez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both children, John Arel, 11, and Jasmine Benitez, 6, suffered serious injuries and were transported to separate trauma centers for treatment.

UPDATE: 8:21 P.M. – Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol say a two vehicle crash occurred on County Road 54, west of Berry Road around 7:08 p.m.  There are three confirmed fatalities, as well as serious injuries to other passengers.  Motorists should avoid the area.  FHP Troopers continue to investigate the incident; additional details will be forthcoming.

ZEPHYRHILLS – Pasco County Fire Rescue is on the scene of a fatal crash at the intersection of SR-54 and Berry Road.

UPDATE: 5:07 P.M. – Officials say the victim the victim was trimming trees in a bucket truck when he came in contact with the power lines. The patient is conscious and breathing.

SPRING HILL (PASCO) – Pasco County Fire Rescue is reporting an electrocution that occurred in the 18000 block of Skinner Dr.

BROOKSVILLE – A woman taken into custody on failure to appear charges is now facing a felony after an unusual item was found hidden inside her body.

DADE CITY – A bicyclist was struck and killed this morning while traveling on US-301.

But not everyone was happy with the decision or how Board Member Beth Narverud led the charge in Romano’s abrupt termination.  That’s why a local Baptist Minister says he decided to run against incumbent Board Member Susan Duval for the District 5 Seat this fall.

SPRING HILL – If you travel Waterfall Drive between County Line Road and Spring Hill Drive then you’ve probably noticed a life-size Tiger standing guard over a quaint two-story home. But thanks to the whim of a would-be thief, all that remains of the majestic striped sentinel are four bare patches in the front lawn of owners Kyle Carver and Amanda Horner.

Chaos erupted again last night, after a minor traffic crash turned into a hit and run, physical altercation, and even a kidnapping.

SPRING HILL – Deputies surrounded a residence on Greenbrier Court this morning after a wanted person barricaded himself inside the home and refused to surrender.

WEEKI WACHEE – Another dog left inside a vehicle at Weeki Wachee Springs prompts a call to law enforcement, but this time the owners left without facing the consequences.

SPRING HILL – A construction worker was trapped under an overturned forklift for about an hour this morning before Rescue Personnel could free him from the wreckage.
