SPRING HILL – The search for a battery suspect finally came to an end yesterday, after Detectives located 26-year-old Joshua Velez at a residence on Boswell Road.
Velez made the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list, after failing to appear on a 2015 domestic battery charge and violating the conditions of pretrial release – all misdemeanor charges.
A local Judge isn’t making it easy for Velez to get out of jail this time. With bond set at $130,000, Velez would need at least $13,000 cash and collateral for a bail bondsman to set him free.
The details of the original battery charge are unknown at this time; however, Velez does have long history of nonviolent criminal offenses.

Folks, he is human just like everyone else. You werent there, so you cant judge him. I was victim to a bogus DV charge some years ago and it cost me damn near everythinv i owned and even my so called friends. Judge not, lest ye be judged.

Thats my brother joshua velez, and he did not do anything. he was trying to keep his kid and he was fighting his way through to have him but if his girlfriend did not start leaving marks on herself like biting herself them my brother would not have one of the stupidest charges ever its kind of dumb that they will arrest my brother like that they will rather get him before his ex-wife that was hitting him and scratching him on his arms, body, and face while he was trying to take his son a bath. I am one of the best witnesses to this case because they started trying to fight each other in my room while i was trying to sleep but then i woke up and i started paying attention to what they both were doing. But if you wanted to know what my name is my name is Julian Velez and his old wifes name was Yarinette and i dont remember her last name but that was her name.

If he were so innocent, why did he violate his pre-trial conditions? Why does he have a LONG history of offences? Why does he have a failure to appear?
I’m not saying he is guilty of the battery charge, but he does have a criminal history, and if he was innocent, he isn’t doing himself any favors by failing to defend himself and prove his own innocence.

he is innocent of the said charges,,,his past needs to stay in the past ,,he commited the same idiotic crimes most teenagers do so ur reporter broke the law by digging in juvenile records!!!!! and then those juvi charges were all non violent!! get it ????? you have to know your court date to appear ,,he didnt even have a lawyer ,, at the preliminary . all his adult records are traffic violations 1 little marijuana charge ,he does not have a long criminal history according to the reporter ,and dont get his records mixed up with other joshua velez’s there are more that 2 on record in hernando co. now after all is said an done the female having him charged with her lies who happens to be YARINETTE C LARACUENTE should be charged with filing false charges and lying under oath,,she even lies to the public and dating websites that she is single and has no kids which is a blatent lie at the time she signed onto the websites!!!!! she is also breaking the law by denying the father of her child a part of the childs life and up bringing….. like i said before…..ya can kiss me where the sun dont shine!!!!!
