BROOKSVILLE – The Red Cross assisted a family of five Christmas evening, after fire damaged their home on Nightwalker Road.
According to officials, Fire Rescue responded to the 7200 block of Nightwalker Road around 9:00 p.m., where they discovered flames and heavy smoke coming from the garage. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control but not before severely damaging the garage and part of an interior laundry room. The remainder of the home sustained heavy smoke damage.
Family members say they left the residence for a short time and when they returned the house was on fire. The home did not have properly functioning smoke detectors, according to fire officials. No injuries have been reported.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of fire.

I was so ving by right when the fire truck got there the flames were bellowing out of the front of the house so sad that this happened especially on Christmas. My heart goes out to the family.
Driving*
nightwalker is weeki wachee north 34613 not brooksville..
If no one was home, smoke detectors would have been no assistance.
Regardless effective detectors are a must though, so as to a;ert those at home of a situation.
Foodforthought glad your on the ball cause thats whats important when a fire ruined a familys home just in time for the holidays, wow what a f##king idiot
So just curious is the hair splitting over the name of the neighborhood make it less tragic,,im just trying to see why you felt the need to make that assine comment or are you an a$$hole plain and simple??
Hopefully this family will make a full recovery after this tragic loss.
I have lived here almost my whole life. 34613 has always been considered Brooksville.
Ya food for thought. Weeki wachee north is technically a mobile home park off us 19 north
And if someone mails you something and puts “Brooksville” it WILL get delivered to you. Stop being so lame these people had a house fire and you can’t say oh sorry for your loss your more concerned about a city boundary name.
I was thinking the same thing Mike L. No one home to hear the alarm the fire dept isn’t going to there any faster. They do have a ton of garbage next to the house.
