Crews Lake Middle School Principal Killed in Collision with Logging Truck

UPDATE: 1/20/2017, 12:38 P.M. – The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that Adam C. Kennedy, 41, of Land O’ Lakes died from injuries sustained in this morning’s crash.

According to reports, Kennedy was traveling westbound on SR 52, west of US 46, when he collided with the rear of a logging truck driven by Jason Harbarugh, 41.

Sources have confirmed that Kennedy was the Principal at Crews Lake Middle School in Pasco County.

SPRING HILL (PASCO) – The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that one person is dead after an incident involving a logging truck.

Emergency personnel responded to the area of SR 52 and US 41 just after 7:00 a.m. where the victim was confirmed deceased.

Witnesses say the logs pierced the truck’s windshield, killing the victim.

There are unconfirmed reports that the victim is a local school official but we are not releasing the identity until authorities have confirmed that relatives have been notified.

Thank you that was very nice and I am one of the kids at Crews Lake Middle School I got notified in second period My teacher came in crying and she told us when she’s not supposed to what happened here’s something that the teacher told us but you didn’t know at the day of the crash his wife it was her birthday. Third period the teachers tried to keep it a secret because they weren’t supposed to tell the kids what happened the kids from second period tried to keep it a secret to some kids came in crying and the other kid hugging them some kids knew that someone died but didn’t know until finally the teacher in that class told the class then almost the whole class burst into tears some kids were crying out loud one kid was crying really loud fell on the floor another kid reacted by throwing his water bottle on the floor violently throwing his backpack across the floor and picking up his chair and throwing it across the room! And leaving the room😢 school couldn’t continue all we did was sit in class all day crying many teachers were depressed. My name is Ethan hope and this is a day to remember to share he was only 40 he has two beautiful children one of them is 6 but I don’t know the other ones age I didn’t know rest in peace mr. Kennedy.   1. So sorry… Prayers…. but atleast get it correct….41 and 52 is Gowers Corner - no such town as Spring Hill - that’s not a town - it’s a housing subdivision

    1. My thoughts and prayers go to his wife children family and friends. Not that it really matters but spring hill is a town not a housing development. I’ve lived in spring hill fOr 36 years.

  2. Such a sad day:( I hope Pasco County Schools offer the students and teachers grief counseling, sounds like they really loved Mr. Kennedy. My condolences to his family.
