SPRING HILL – An all-night manhunt finally paid off for Sheriff’s Deputies Saturday, after a burglary suspect eluded them for several hours.
According to reports, 38-year-old Zachary Allen Schmidt entered a residence at the 1400 block of Old Mill Lane, after kicking open the door. Once inside, Schmidt began fighting with at least two people and then fled the scene on foot. Several deputies established a perimeter, while K-9 began tracking and the Air Unit search searched from above. Schmidt avoided detection for several hours but was eventually captured in the area of Shoal Line Blvd and Blue Fish Drive.
Schmidt is charged with one count of Burglary and is currently behind bars, held on $10,000 bond. It should be noted that Schmidt was arrested two previous times this year, on charges of Battery, Criminal Mischief, and Violating Probation.
The battery victims declined to press charges against Schmidt for the altercation that took place inside the home.

Why did the 2 people inside the house decline to press charges for the battery?
Did they know Schmidt ? And if the answer is yes, why did Schmidt break in
and then start fighting the people inside? Was it drug related, is that why they
chose not too press charges?
Well has he done enough yet to be put in jail, the victims not pressing charges seems a bit unusual. Must be one of their “friends “

Sadly it was his residence before this day and was gathering his clothes while the womans ex started to attack him. Thats y they arent pressing charges. The woman told him at first to come there and then had the ex taunt him. Not sure of drugs. Alcohol was a factor. He did not take anything other than his clothes. Why was this not looked into further?? His son is sad.

Once and for all: I said to become a habitual offender, I.E. get “hooked” on phonics, and become a regular user of said program, because being a casual speller is just not working out. Never once did I say anything about the son breaking any laws.
Let set the record straight. First this guy has raped his girlfriend in the past and current girlfriend but has not been charged for it since they did not call the cops when it happened they are both idiots for not doing so. He has broken the car window from his past girlfreind and broke the car window with his current one. He was supposed to be in jail for 8 months for VOP but was release in less then 3 months for overcrowding condiction. He has been abusing his current girlfriend since they been together. The day he got released is the same day he broke the door down and started attacking the people in the house. He was forced out of the house by the two men in the house during the break in. This was not do to drugs and the two people that did not press charges was for a different incident with him not this one. This guy should stay in jail for a long time without parole. If they let him out again it’s the fault of the system as to what he will do next.
