SPRING HILL – Last night RNRF broke the news of a Vice and Narcotics drug raid at a residence on Covewood Drive. Turns out, the bust was much bigger than initially suspected and involved a multi-agency task force that included local and federal law enforcement.
According to a statement provided by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, V&N detectives were contacted by agents with Homeland Security (HSI) and U.S. Customs (ICE), after they intercepted a package in Memphis Tennessee. The package had a final destination of 7036 Covewood Drive, originated in China, and contained MDMA (Molly, Ecstasy).
Investigators began surveilling the Covewood Address and yesterday made a controlled delivery of the package to the residence. The male suspect, 34-year-old Joseph Brown accepted the package and within minutes he left the residence in a silver Mercedes Benz. Brown was taken into custody without incident at the intersection of Landover Blvd (north) and Mariner Blvd.
While Brown was being secured in a patrol car, a SWAT team made entry into the residence and placed 38-year-old Danielle Fisher into custody.
Inside the residence detectives located a large assortment of credit cards, pre-paid cards, and at least 12 cell phones. They also found personal identifications of individuals who did not live at the residence. Brown has a prior felony fraud conviction from 2016 and was serving probation from that charge.Detectives also located the following items:
* 3.3 grams unknown powdery substance (sent to FDLE for testing)
* 8.0 grams MDMA (located under mattress)
* 1 gram marijuana
* .2 grams cocaine
* Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol (located under mattress)
* Ammunition
* 493 grams MDMA (package delivered)
* Numerous items of paraphernalia
* Laptop.
Both Brown and Fisher denied any criminal involvement during interviews with detectives.
Brown is charged with Trafficking in MDMA among other drug and firearm related charges. Brown’s bond has been set at $128,500.
Fisher also faces Trafficking in MDMA and other drug charges. Fisher’s bond is set at $108,500.

Sorry for not clarifying. The package remained at the residence. He did not have it in his possession.

No. Just clarifying that the package was never in the vehicle.
