Arrest reports show two drivers were jailed Tuesday on charges of knowingly driving without a valid license.
Early Tuesday a sheriff’s deputy stopped Miranda Raylene Peck, 26, of Old Hunter Rd. in Brooksville, on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. She reportedly told the deputy that her license was suspended, which the deputy said he confirmed with a computer check. The man who said he thought Peck had taken his vehicle later declined to press charges, according to an arrest affidavit. Peck was jailed on the license charge only and was reportedly released later Tuesday on a $250 bond.
In Brooksville, police said they spotted a known traffic offender driving on Monday, but didn’t catch him at the wheel until Tuesday. A media release said Jeffrey Allen Elpers, 26, of West St. was spotted a second time Tuesday near Jefferson St. and Ponce De Leon Blvd. and arrested after a traffic stop for a third or subsequent offense of driving with a suspended license. Jail records showed he was still behind bars Wednesday in lieu of $1,000 bond.
