SPRING HILL – Deputies are investigating a bizarre chain of events this morning, after reports of reckless driver ended with a man stripping off all his clothes and running down the street.
According to sources, around 10:00 a.m. 911 dispatchers began receiving reports that a U-Haul pickup truck was driving recklessly in the area of Mariner Blvd and Northcliffe Blvd. While deputies were searching for the vehicle, dispatchers received reports of a hit and run at Hearth Road and Lamson Ave. A short time later, the pickup truck was located on a service road that runs between Tillery Road and Lamson Ave. That’s when the driver stripped down to his underwear and began running southbound from the pickup truck. A deputy intercepted the suspect and placed him into custody.
Fire Rescue responded to check on the suspect after he reportedly suffered road rash from falling onto the pavement.
The suspect was transported to the Hernando County Jail but his booking information is not yet available.
