Woman Cashes in On Collectable Barbies, Charged with Grand Theft

INVERNESS - An Inverness woman is facing Grand Theft charges after stealing an assortment of collectible Barbie Dolls from her own family.

According to officials, several months ago, 26-year-old Kristin Buzard moved into her Aunt and Uncle’s residence on East Perry Street with her husband and four children.

While living in the home, Buzard discovered a variety collectable Barbie Dolls stored in a closet for safekeeping. Officials say Buzard took the dolls to Baby Bargains on North Florida Ave where she sold them for $100.00. Buzard’s Aunt reported the stolen dolls to authorities and claimed that her niece was responsible.

During an interview, Buzard admitted to selling the dolls but claimed that her Grandmother said to keep them or throw them away.

Due to inconsistencies in Buzard’s story, she was arrested and charged with Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property. The combined value of the dolls is estimated to be just under $500.00.

Buzard is currently free on a $7,000 bond.

  1. I’m praying she & her husband aren’t teaching their 4 KIDS her values. Personally, I feel you two should be spayed & neutered. I can’t imagine STEALING FROM FAMILY!!!! For what purpose???? IT’S DISGUSTING-PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!

  2. So sad! They have 4 kids & no place to Live. Some people Just Do not give a sh*t! Should not Reproduce! SAD Do your kids a favor Give them up to someone that can take care of them so they do not grow up to be like you!

  3. I wonder if the good hearted Aunt, now kicked her and her brood out. I would! I also wonder what the reason was when confronted by the Aunt in response to “After all we did for you?.”
