SPRING HILL – Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating a purse snatching that occurred at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at Commercial Way and Lake in the Woods Drive.
There are unconfirmed reports that the man pictured below grabbed the victim’s purse from her shoulder and ran northbound through Lakewood Shopping Plaza.
RNRF arrived on the scene just as K-9 began tracking behind the Target Department Store and into the adjacent Bridgwater Club Apartments. Moments after tracking began, deputies located the suspect hiding between two apartment buildings. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to the scene of the crime.
It is not known if the victim was injured but her purse was located at the Publix Grocery Store and turned over to deputies.
Deputies are still reviewing surveillance video and interview the victim and suspect at this time.
We will bring more on this story as it develops.
UPDATE: 10/27/2016, 10:17 P.M. - 30-Year-Old Nick John Turner is charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching and is currently behind bars, held on $50,000 bond.
