According to reports, 25-year-old Heather Jean Henderson violated the law when she trespassed onto the railroad tracks near Pattie Road and Paul S. Buchman Hwy.

A CSX train struck Henderson and 2-year-old Hunter Fink as they were crossing a 200 foot long railroad trestle. Fink later died from massive trauma to the head and body, according to the officials.

Henderson faces one count of Aggravated Child Neglect with Great Bodily Harm and is held on a $10,000 bond.

Family started has started a Gofundme page on Hunter Fink’s behalf.

CORRECTION: 6:11 P.M. - Earlier reports indicated that the babysitter was the child’s sister. This was in error and has been corrected.

  1. Why start a go fund me account? Are we rewarding bad behavior? Why should we help when the parents allowed this to happen to their child. Yes I said the parents allowed this to happen by put the child in the care of some else. I do not belive the parents should be prosecuted but they have some responsibility here as well. Ms. Henderson will face a jury of her peers and the Justice system will judge her accordingly.

      1. Yes. The parents made choices. The parents allowed the babysitter to have the child outside of the home. The parents chose the babysitter. …… “The Idiot”

        1. The babysitter was a family friend so they trusted her, and no one could have expected this. Both parents have to work in this day and age, daycare is ridiculously expensive, they were doing everything they could to live a good life and provide for their children. They’re already mourning the loss of their son, don’t you think that’s enough without your rude comments about how it’s “their fault?” What is wrong with you? Are you really that heartless and unempathetic? These parents did nothing wrong, they don’t deserve to have such horrible things said. Even if you truly (somehow) believe that they are at fault, you really could have just kept your nose out of it and your horrid opinion to yourself.

  2. The facts in this are all wrong, Heather is not Hunter’s sister, she was just a family friend and the babysitter. The sister was a 4 year old girl who was also there but was saved by Heather’s friend by jumping out of the way.

  3. I don’t know anyone involved in this story BUT have any of the commenters thought the family has feelings of grief, guilt & could possibly be in financial problems already. Funerals are not cheap even without a viewing. Casket, burial plot, transport of loved one, digging of plot & covering, headstone, prep of body. How can you deny a child’s family a decent burial ??? And go funding a walkway along a PRIVATE Railway track ??? PRIVATE means stay out & off of property.
For the family my sympathy & prayers.
Also my apologies for being so blunt & graphic but I know the expenses involved & can’t understand the reaction to your go fund me request. Perhaps you could limit the go fund me page to an amount covering these expenses only that way no one can say your profiting from your tragedy.
