UPDATE: 5/9/2017, 1:45 P.M. – Pasco County Officials have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Michael Anthony Medeiros. Officials have also confirmed that Medeiros was a suspect in a Sexual Battery case out of their agency.
SPRING HILL – Earlier today RNRF reported that Sheriff’s Deputies were negotiating with an armed man inside the Nantucket Cove Apartments. Officials now say he has taken his own life.
According to officials, deputies and negotiators attempted for several hours to establish dialogue with a suicidal subject. After several failed attempts to urge the man to surrender peacefully, SWAT members made entry into the apartment and found the individual deceased from what appears to be self-inflicted injuries.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released but there are unconfirmed reports that the deceased may have been a suspect in a Pasco County Major Case investigation.

UPDATE: 2:42 P.M. – Several concerned parents have inquired about nearby Notre Dame Catholic School. Administrators would not comment but according to a Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson, the school in not on lockdown at this time.
SPRING HILL – Sheriff’s Deputies are on the scene of a standoff inside the Nantucket Cove Apartments, where sources say man has barricaded himself inside one of the apartments and may be armed.

I so agree! I knew him well! Mike was a good friend of mine! He was a GREAT GUY and I just found out and I am hysterically heartbroken! Ugh! Mike was a gentle soul; he LOVED and lived for his grandchildren and they loved their “Poppy”! THIS really is very very sad is all I can say! Rest in peace Mike,. We all miss you already! I only regret that we were out of town when this all went down! I am POSITIVE that I could have talked him out of this if I had been given the chance! So sorry!
