SPRING HILL – Shoplifters are making their rounds in droves tonight but the eyes of loss prevention are watching and law enforcement officers are standing by with open arms.
Earlier this evening several Sheriff’s Deputies waited patiently outside the Walmart Super Center on Cortez Blvd, while loss prevention employees monitored three separate and unrelated shoplifters inside the store.
It’s not known if there were any arrests made from Walmart but at least one person was trespassed from the store.
While Deputies were still on the scene at Walmart, another theft in progress was reported at the Bealls Department Store, located in the same plaza. Deputies surrounded the front entrance and detained two suspects near a vehicle in the parking lot. A few minutes later, Deputies grabbed two other shoplifting suspects as they exited the store.
During a search of one of the male suspects, a Deputy discovered what appeared to be a syringe.
There are unconfirmed reports that the suspects are not from the area and that a dog may have been seized from their vehicle by Animal Control.

If the judges gave 30 days to EVERYONE convicted of shoplifting, it may wake them up and slow down the thievery.
Sadly it costs so much to jail someone it wouldn’t be worth it. I think community service and job training is a better idea.
The court adds the daily cost to your fine.

when I worked security to pay for the academy we would spot some retail theft and we would play songs over the loud speaker for fun like The Slits, “Shoplifting” or The Smiths, “Shoplifters Of The World Unite” or Green Day, “Shoplifter” or Jane’s Addiction, “Been Caught Stealing” and even The Briefs, “Shoplifting At Macy’s” just for dry humor.. you would be surprised how many of these people would have warrants or dope on them.

yes,I worked in reatail for 30 years,I could tell as soon as they came in the store,I hate shoplifters! that’s a big reason for prices to go up,when I shop now and see it I tell them to put it back or else! yes the police have there hands full durng the holidays, great job people!
Mandatory two (2) years Basic Training in the Military for every single child at the age of 18 whether they graduated High School or not is what will solve the majority of these type of problems. Why? Because it teaches self respect, discipline, honor, learning to listen and knowing their are rules & consequences. It’s not what the Country can do for you. It’s what You can do for your Country. Kids today have no respect, direction and don’t understand basic manners or presenting themselves with their best foot forward. Military would teach them how to get dressed, how to work together, and how to respect themselves and their fellow men & women. It would help the elderly in a huge way and be a tremendous boast to our High Schools & Community as a whole. Everybody wins and it’s not about war, killing or shooting. It’s about a Civil Duty to serve, learn, contribute…
Our society needs balance, stability, peace, harmony, and a sense of pride and this would be the best thing to ever happen to the Country.
Ive been saying that for years. I went through the process when I was 17 and didnt like what I was becoming, It works! I came out of the military a different person. I became a responsible individual. My military serviced saved my life.
i agree learning earlier will always save most our kids when there growing up to adults actually might help them actually use there brains and think before they act.

Most parents do suck at parenting, however at what point does this fall on the person committing the crime? One of this guys is 50, the other is 30. The one in red is also 30.

The way to solve this is to either provide free rehab or give pills for free for the holidays if there was a place for free pills they would not have to shoplift and when they come for the free pills arrest them guarantee you would get over half of spring Hill off the streets welcome to pill hill
