BREAKING: Toddler and Adult Struck by CSX Train, Airlifted to Trauma Center

UPDATE: 2:07 P.M. - Officials have now confirmed that a 26-year-old female was also injured and airlifted to a trauma center. The conditions of both patients remain unknown.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

ZEPHYRHILLS (PASCO) – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a 2-year-old has been struck by a CSX Train in the area of Paul S. Buchman Hwy.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. this morning and emergency personnel are on the scene.

Officials have not confirmed the following details but according to our sources the child may have been playing on the tracks along with other children and a babysitter at the time of the accident. It is also believed that CPR was performed on the child prior to the arrival of Bayflite. The child’s condition is unknown at this time.

Sources also say there may be a second victim that will be will airlifted to a trauma center but the age and gender of that victim is unknown.

  1. Why would a responsible babysitter let the kids play on rail road tracks,? I used to play on them but I was 12 years old, I know it’s still very dangerous but younger children with a babysitter nor making ng sense or babysitter has no senses.

  2. For mother & child my prayers go out. What a horrible thing to happen at this time or any other. For the male & other child I pray also. Everyone is right - this makes no sense!!! Please, Tom , ask your contacts to keep us all updated. We are all saddened by this as well as bewildered.
