Wanted Drug Suspect Jailed on $110,000 Bond…

A man wanted since vice detectives raided his Arkays Ave. home on Saturday was booked into the Hernando County Jail Wednesday night.  Raymond Escobar, 22, is being held in lieu of $110,000 bond, according to jail records.  He’s charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, selling marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a media release, detectives seized 305.6 Grams of Methamphetamine, 796.1 Grams of Marijuana, a Glock 17 – 9mm semi-automatic pistol (loaded  with 18 rounds), 7 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition,  $750 in US currency, and numerous items of drug equipment, including pipes, bongs, scales and baggies.  Detectives obtained a search warrant for the home after noticing drug-related items allegedly in plain view during an “assist” for patrol deputies and a Children and Families investigation.  The media release said many of the items were observed in Escobar’s bedroom, but he was not at home at the time and refused to return.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.  No details of his apprehension were available.  Two other occupants of the residence were charged with several counts of drug possession, but without the trafficking and sale allegations.
