Sheriff’s deputies and Brooksville police combined to capture three suspects in the armed robbery of a Spring Hill convenience store within an hour of the holdup Wednesday afternoon.
According to an update, a sheriff’s office spokesperson reported that about twenty minutes before 5 p.m., “the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Mobil at 1394 Commercial Way in Spring Hill reporting a commercial robbery. A white male came into the store, brandished a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The male left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was seen getting into a Silver Chrysler Mini Van with a luggage rack on top and a plexiglas bug shield mounted to the hood. There was at least one other male in the vehicle at the time. It was later determined that there was an unknown time delay between the time the robbery occurred and the time the call was placed to the Sheriff’s Office.
“At approximately 5:21 officers from the Brooksville Police Department observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the area of Cortez Blvd and Candlelight Blvd and they initiated a traffic stop. At this time, deputies and detectives from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office are on scene with the Brooksville Police Department and three suspects are in custody. The investigation is on-going at this time.”
