Mystery Grows into Search for Missing Spring Hill Man, SUV Located Unoccupied

UPDATE: 1/22/2017, 10:57 A.M. - The search has been called off for today, due to inclimate weather.

Correction: RNRF originally reported that Paul’s cell phone may be located north of the location where the SUV was located. We have now learned that the cell phone could actually be closer to where the SUV was discovered.

ALACHUA COUNTY – The mystery continues into the search for Paul Marvella, the man who disappeared last Sunday while driving back from Jacksonville after delivering a cadaver to a tissue bank.

According to Sue Moyer, a private investigator hired to aid in the search, Paul’s vehicle was found submerged in a swampy area off I-75 called Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.

The vehicle was pulled from the swamp last night but Paul’s body was not inside.

Local authorities resumed their search this morning but so far there is still no sign of his remains.

Adding to the mystery, officials were able to ping Paul’s cell phone which was not located inside the vehicle but is somewhere in the vicinity.

Paul’s girlfriend, Kristen Gould tells RNRF that she has not lost hope in finding him. “He is strong, stubborn and resourceful,” says Gould.

Family is still hopeful that Paul will be found alive and unharmed.
