ZEPHYRHILLS (PASCO) – On Saturday RNRF reported the tragic death of a man who was struck from behind by an SUV while driving a motorcycle on SR-52 (ORIGINAL STORY).
A similar incident occurred yesterday on Chancey Road, where a Brooksville woman failed to stop for slowing traffic and subsequently struck several motorcycles, killing an elderly man and injuring two others.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Kara Perrini was traveling westbound on Chancey Road in her 2004 Jeep Liberty when she failed to notice two vehicles in front of her braking near Yonkers Blvd. As a result, Perrini’s Jeep collided with the rear of a Nissan cargo van, which propelled that vehicle into a Chrysler Sedan. After the initial collision, Perrini’s Jeep veered into the eastbound lanes and struck two motorcycles. A third motorcycle drove off the roadway and struck a fence, in an effort to avoid colliding with the Jeep.
Officials say 77-year-old Donald Ross of Zephyrhills suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. William Sly, 66 suffered serious injuries and Patsy Ross, 74 suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Charges are pending.

My God is it open season on motorcycles ??? What is it with all these folks hitting/killing bikers??? Prayers go out for all injured & dead. Hopefully the man killed did not suffer long enough to register it. To the woman who started this fiasco - what was so important that you decided not to stop for traffic???? “Karma” That is a stupid comment. Helmets do not save everyone every time. Head on collision with a jeep at highway speeds and the helmet would not make any difference regardless.

I where a helmet but what difference would it make when some————————- comes head on in your lane, Probably better off without a helmet at that point. Better off just going on than to try and suffer for years to come . especially at 77 years of age.
