Pasco Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in DUI Crash

PORT RICHEY (PASCO) – A Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered minor injuries last night after her patrol car was struck by an SUV, driven by a suspected drunk driver. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Deputy Sharon Loppolo was stopped in the eastbound lanes of Fox Hollow Drive, at the intersection of Regency Park Blvd, when her patrol car was rear ended by an SUV, driven by 33-year-old Davy Sanders Jr.

Loppolo was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Sanders showed signs of impairment but refused to submit to a breath test or other field sobriety tests.

Sanders is charged with DUI, DUI with Property damage, Careless Driving, Possession of an Open Container, and improper display of a tag.
